Collection: Skinks

Skinks are relatively small lizards in the family Scincidae and can be distinguished from other lizards by their often glossy and smooth scales, tiny limbs in comparison to their bodies and their very short necks. This body shape allows them to be streamlined, a helpful shape to be when sliding along the ground and into burrows.

While most skinks are ground-dwelling species, there are several which are arboreal and semi-arboreal as well.

Many skink species, such as blue tongues, make great pets and are just as friendly and personable as a bearded dragon. By and large their care requirements are beginner lever to intermediate.
