For many people, a highlight of keeping these geckos includes the wonder of watching them walk straight up a pane of glass with ease. This is because of their specialized toe pads, a feature they share with many other arboreal geckos, which have evolved to create the incredible friction necessary for such climbing. They are also great jumpers!

They are omnivorous and thrive on a diet that includes both insects and fruit. All the species listed are native to the Islands of New Caledonia and the surrounding isles.
